Psychologists are mental health professionals who provide support and guidance to people living with mental health issues or who need active listening at some point in their lives. Unlike psychiatrists, they do not provide treatment.
If I need to consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist, I can contact the Medical-Psychological Center (CMP) in my area.
I can also go directly to an office, but I would have to pay for the consultation.
💡 I can benefit from the “My Psychological Support” system . It allows for partial coverage by Health Insurance and my supplementary insurance of 8 psychological support sessions, upon referral from my doctor and with a partner psychologist .
I do not need to pay the costs in advance if :
- I have the SOUL;
- I have CSS;
- I have care related to an ALD;
- I am 6 months or more pregnant;
- I have treatment related to a work accident/occupational illness.
💡 The " Student Psychological Health " program allows students enrolled in a higher education institution (public or private) recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research to have 12 free sessions with a partner psychologist . The program can be renewed each year of study.
Some associations can also offer free psychologist consultations, I can find them on soliguide.fr
⚠️ In case of emergency I call 15, I go to the emergency department of a hospital or if I am in Paris I call 0145658109 .
