In France, I can get treatment even without health insurance and without paying.
Getting treatment in the PASS
PASS (Health Care Access Centers) allow you to receive care free of charge.
After an interview with a social worker , depending on my situation and what is offered by the PASS, it is possible to:
- Consult a general practitioner or a specialist such as a dentist, ophthalmologist or gynecologist;
- Receive care from a nurse;
- Obtain medications prescribed by a doctor.
Getting treatment at the hospital
The hospital provides care in the event of an urgent need, such as hospitalization or care related to pregnancy, childbirth or voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVG).
This care is covered by the Urgent and Vital Care System (DSUV).
💡 Ask a social worker for help
At the hospital, I can ask to meet a hospital social worker.
The social worker can:
- Help me get health coverage;
- Ask the DSUV to pay for care if health coverage is not possible.
When no help is possible, a bill for the care will be sent to me!
